Day 4

image

My first week of radiation is over, now that’s worth a smile! We met up with my Doctor this afternoon – she was very impressed with the progress I’ve made in just a few days … let’s face it, they’re all pretty impressed with me down here.

We moved into an apartment today that’s only a 5 minute drive to St. Jude’s. It’s pretty spacious and has a kitchen, so it’s going to be nice to eat home cooked meals. There are a couple kid parks nearby and a even a pool … this will certainly make the next couple months more comfortable.

Dad and Aunt Maureen are flying home on Monday … my great aunt has been awesome, I’m so glad she’s been here for me and she’s really good at doing art projects exactly as I say! Dearest is driving down in Mom’s car this weekend, she’ll be here by Sunday … my Aunt Caroline is going to visit next week as well, so the medical reinforcements are en route.

We get the weekends off, so I’ll drop another blog on ya Monday. Thanks for all the nice comments, mom and dad read every one!

  1. Dear John, I am a friend of your Grammy Daryl and Grampa Brad’s. I live up north in Stewartstown near their log home. I read your blog every day and have enjoyed seeing you each time. Your smile today was fantastic! You and your mom and dad are in my prayers each day as well. I attend a Ladies Bible Study on Tuesdays and we all pray for you each week now. One of my grandsons, Drew Jeffrey, is the same age you are. Maybe some day you can play together when you come north for a visit! Have a restful weekend. Love and prayers from a new friend, Lynne Placey
