Almost Oyster Shuckin’ Time!

Hopefully you are planning to join us at Coop de Ville on Martha’s Vineyard for the JBT Oyster Shucking Extravaganza this Sunday! Or,

Perhaps you were not planning on coming, but want to be SPONTANEOUS…get yourself to the Cape, jump on a ferry, have a bunch of fun and make memories! We promise, it’ll be worth it!

This JBT Event begins at 3pm, but you can show up anytime! The Coop de Ville is located on the harbor in the Dockside Marketplace in Oak Bluffs. You’ll hear it as you get close, Mike Benjamin Band will be performing on a floating stage!  The Oyster Shucking contest is for pure Bragging Rights.  A table lining the harbor will have contestants shucking oysters; they are timed, and judged on a variety of categories.  Most importantly… they get points for how much they spent to help JBT!  Prizes will be Awarded to those that win each category…to be named in the moment starting at 3:00pm, 9/15, Sunday….So Be There!

50/50 Raffle tickets are On Sale NOW and will be through Sunday afternoon.  Prizes include overnights to Killington, VT and Portland, ME (w/ a Tour of the Shipyard Brewery!), plus shirts/hats & much more.  A JBT goodies table will be there with stickers, shirts and a Large Donation Hat collecting all of our well wishes! And remember FREE rides from Atlantic Cab with your JBT support bracelet!

In Advance….A HUGE thank-you to Petey and the Greatest Staff EVER at The Coop de Ville.  Petey (in the orange shirt with the Bud below) is a great friend & did not even flinch when he heard the story of JBT. A complete stranger who has opened his restaurant, & his Huge Heart, for the opportunity to help. Amazing!

Since many will be coming from Out of Town:

From Boston:  Take 93 South to Route 3 South/Cape Cod. Follow signs to Bourne Bridge/Route 28, Falmouth & the Islands. Take Route 28 all the way to Palmer Ave Parking Lot.  You can catch the free Shuttle from Parking Lot to the Martha’s Vineyard Steamship Authority Ferry at Woods Hole.

Ferry Tickets may be (and is more convenient) purchased roundtrip upon arriving at the terminal. Tickets apply to ANY/ALL Steamship Authority Ferries. It does not apply to a specific timed departure.  Ferries run beginning at 6am and with the final departure at 8:30pm. Boats are every hour & 15 min.

Upon Arriving In Vineyard Haven Look for Atlantic Cab OR Call 508-693-7110 For your FREE Ride.  If you take the ferry to Oak Bluffs Look for Atlantic Cab OR walk 2 blocks to Coop de Ville!
