JBT Regatta Photos!

Thanks again for all of the support we received at the 2nd Annual JBT Regatta at the Winnipesaukee Yacht Club on June 18th.  We had a huge turnout, not only with the sailors who raced in the Regatta and the 200+ people who came out for the BBQ & Auction, but the dozens of friends and colleagues who sent us incredibly generous donations.  We raised over $45,000 for The Cure Starts Now Foundation!!

A HUGE thank you goes to our great friends, the Milligan’s.  Yesterday’s Milligan Memorial Golf Tournament raised another $14,500 for CSN – as well as $14,500 for the Babcock Scholarship Fund.   INCREDIBLE!!

Please know that you all are truly a part of something special  —  CSN is a wonderful foundation powered by families that have endured the same heartache that DIPG delivered us  –  We will end this devastating disease, no matter how long it takes!   Please know how appreciative and sincerely thankful we are for your support …  It means the world to us and we are so proud to be making this impact in John’s honor.

Fond Memories

John loved football.  Before he turned one he would raise his hands above his head smile and giggle and we would all shout “touchdown”.  As he grew older the love of football grew within him.  He had so much fun playing in the backyard and in the youth flag football league.  He would practice and strategize every move on the field, knowing, “If you can touch it .. you can catch it”.  In the last two seasons of football, John memorized the names, mascots and logos of all the NFL teams.  He has spent the last couple months sewing patches of each teams logo with his Aunts to make a blanket for his dad.  We will hold these memories forever.

Fond Memories
We are grateful to have received so much love through sharing our memories and journey with you and are so humbled by all your condolences.  We ask you to take a moment to share your fondest memories of John with us.  Through a comment on this post, feel free to tell us of times that made you laugh and smile.  Whether memories with JBT, the family and friends, or even reflecting on the memories we have shared through this website.  If you would like to add pictures, please email them to thinkjohnbradley@gmail.com and we will include them in the JBT, Family and Friends Pics photo gallery.

Celebration of Life

JBT

We have been on this journey together for the past 10 months and are truly grateful for all the love this community has given our family. We will hold a celebration of John’s life at the Gilford Community Church on Saturday, April 12th at 2pm. After the service, we will walk through the village to the Pine Grove Cemetery, and then gather back at the Gilford Youth Center.

We are grateful that you have been helping the kids remember John at home and in school.  We will continue to remember him in many different ways, but this service is just for adults. Please wear comfy shoes for the walk to the cemetery.

For those of you traveling from out of town, a block of rooms have been reserved at the Gilford TownePlace Suites Marriott. You can reference ‘Thompson’ upon reservation.

7!

Hello Friends!!!

Today I am 7!  We’ve spent the last couple weeks celebrating.  While we’re taking things day by day around here, we have been having fun with a full house. The whole family is here and I’ve continued to work hard on my artwork.  My Aunt Kat and I are making a movie right now based on a book I wrote called “The 3 Spies”.  Stay tuned, we might do a screening.

We had an awesome family party on Sunday, some cool animals came to the house, including a hedgehog, chinchilla and some guinea pigs.  My friends at school had a party for me today too … We had pizza and cake and I got in a little trouble shooting cake at my favorite teachers – I’m a pretty good shot with a plastic spoon!

My 7th Birthday

Today was a good day … Love you guys.

Thinking JBT in Hawaii!

Hi John! I just wanted to send you tons of love from Kauai!

Love from Kauai

While here, I went high up into the mountains where there was a monastary and this beautiful statue, who represents a Hindu God of Wisdom.  People that come here leave behind trinkets and coins asking for a blessing. I decided to leave behind my JBT bracelet too (can you see it on his thumb?) and I said a prayer that all the doctors and scientists who are working on a cure for DIPG will find the wisdom to end this cancer for good.  I hope you think it’s cool that one of your bracelets is hanging out somewhere way up in the mountains of Kauai!

Hindu God of Wisdom

It’s so beautiful here and I am thinking of you, your mom and your whole family every day.

Love you – mom’s friend Maura.
